Alpine Fest
Alpine Fest 2020 Update:
LAKE ZURICH LIONS CLUB Alpine Fest has endured thru the decades . This beloved event has never been canceled, even during WWII. It has always served as a community gathering place to celebrate the summer and our village. Sadly, for the first time in almost 80 years, the Lake Zurich Lions Club Board of Directors has voted not to hold Alpine Fest event this year, due to Covid19. The festival, scheduled to be held July 24th through 26th, would have been the 79th anniversary of this popular community tradition that annually draws over 30,000 people during the three day event. Alpine Fest Co Chairs, Footloose! Frank and Tyler Garlock stated that, ''The summer will not be the same without Alpine Fest". 'We have generations of families who have attended this family friendly event", said Footloose!. "Grandparents that rode our festival's rides in Lion's Park as children bring their grandchildren to the fest", added Garlock. Alpine Fest will definitely be missed by all involved, be they planners, volunteers or visitors. The club is currently looking at options for an event in the fall. Alpine Fest is the Lake Zurich Lion's Club's largest event of the year as well as the largest event in Lake Zurich completely run by volunteers. This was not an easy decision for our Board to make, however our first priority is the safety and well-being of our residents, volunteers and staff.
